Privacy Policy

Introduction

This privacy policy describes how the Gaugr extension handles your information when using our browser extension. We are committed to protecting your privacy.

Data collection

By default, Gaugr does NOT collect or transmit any personal data. Specifically, Gaugr never collects:

• Your conversations or messages on Claude.ai
• Your browsing history or personal information
• Analytics or tracking data
• Third-party cookies

Data synchronization

Gaugr automatically synchronizes your extension data across all your devices via our servers. This synchronization is enabled by default and cannot be disabled, as it is required for core functionality. The following data is synced:

• Extension settings (language, display mode, auto-update preference)
• Notification preferences (alert thresholds, reminder toggles)
• Customizations (theme color, font, chat width, layout options)
• Claude.ai account list (email, org ID, subscription tier — session tokens are never synced)
• Usage cache (current utilization percentages)
• Usage history (historical usage data points for charts)

If you are not signed in, your data is linked to an anonymous device identifier. When you sign in, your data is automatically merged with your account across all your devices. No conversation content, messages, prompts, or any text from Claude.ai is ever synced. You can request deletion of all synced data by contacting support@gaugr.app.

Local storage

The extension uses your browser's local storage to save your preferences and cache usage data. This data remains exclusively on your device:

• Display preferences: theme, language, element positioning
• Usage history cache: recent usage data for charts (up to 1000 data points)
• Account information: Claude.ai session identifiers for multi-account support

Extension permissions

Gaugr only requests permissions necessary for its operation:

• storage: To save your preferences locally
• activeTab: To detect claude.ai and display the interface
• scripting: To integrate the interface into the Claude.ai page
• alarms: To schedule periodic usage checks and sync

Claude.ai data

The extension reads usage information from claude.ai (5h limits, 7 days, etc.) only to present them more clearly. This data is cached locally and, if you opt in to sync, sent to our servers as described above.

No data sharing with Anthropic

Gaugr is an independent third-party tool. We do not share, sell, or transmit any Claude-related data to Anthropic, PBC or to any third party, except as strictly necessary for the extension to operate (for example, interacting with the user's own claude.ai browser session). Specifically:

• We do not forward conversations, prompts, or responses to Anthropic or any other server.
• We do not transmit Claude OAuth tokens, authentication cookies, or session data to third-party services.
• We do not access Claude API keys on your behalf. Any API-key functionality is strictly local and requires explicit opt-in.
• We do not act as a proxy for Claude and do not redistribute Claude-generated content.

Third-party services

Gaugr uses Stripe for payment processing and Hetzner for server hosting. No usage data is shared with third parties. The extension itself does not use tracking SDKs or analytics platforms.

Your rights (GDPR)

You have the right to access, rectify, and delete your data. To delete all synced usage data, use the option in your account settings at gaugr.app/account, or contact us at contact@gaugr.app. Data deletion requests are processed within 48 hours.

Changes to this policy

We reserve the right to modify this privacy policy. Any changes will be published on this page. If we introduce new data collection, we will explicitly inform you and request your consent.
